Emergency

If you encounter any trouble during your stay in the United States,
the following emergency contacts are available for use anywhere in the country.

❖ 911 (U.S. Emergency Number)

Dial 911 for police, ambulance, or fire services.
Examples of phrases you can use:

  • “I need an ambulance.”

  • “There is an emergency.”

Even if you are not confident in English, the operator will speak slowly and guide you through the call.

❖ Medical Care (ER: Emergency Room)

If you are injured or feeling unwell, you may go directly to an Emergency Room (ER), which is open 24 hours a day.

  • No appointment required

  • Bringing proof of your travel insurance helps the process go smoothly

  • Waiting times vary depending on the hospital

❖ Japanese Support Services (Passport Loss, Theft, etc.)
